Dear Niko,

The short answer to your question is yes and many people find this a very arrogant claim to make. So let me explain it a bit further.

Christianity makes the claim that it is the only way to reach God and be forgiven by him. Jesus, in John chapter 14, verse 6, claims that “I am the Way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me”. By this Jesus is saying that no-one can know God, come before God or be forgiven by God unless they comes “through” him. He is the gateway (so to speak). In other parts of the bible this gateway is talked of as God’s grace to us through faith in Jesus (Ephesians chapter 2 verses 1 - 10).

If Jesus statement is true,  that means that every other religion that tries to find God by some other means must be wrong. It‘s logical. Jesus can’t be true and the other religions true as well. Either Jesus is wrong or the other religions are wrong. Our problem is how to choose!

The best way to do this is to find out as much about who Jesus is and what he has said and done and then ask yourself “Does it make sense? Can I trust what he is saying?”. If it does make sense and you think you can trust him then you put your trust in him (your faith) and this is all you need to do to be saved.

In John’s gospel, chapter 3 verse 16 Jesus says that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whover believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. This is a great promise and worth thinking about.
